Summer of '82

Awesome Family Show
This classic TV show with hippie turned yuppie parents raising three unique children is always entertaining and sends out great messages, too. This is where Michael J Fox got his start as the intelligent and snobbish teen Alex P. Keaton who always schemes to get the girl, but supports his family bottom line. Mallory the oldest sister, strives for popularity, but her lack of confidence undermines her efforts at times. Younger sister, Jennifer, a sports enthusiast, always has a sarcastic comment to add. The shows great writing never failed to keep me laughing, and the show was something the family could watch together. Yes, it is dated, but it is 30 years old. If you loved the Keaton's back "in the day", you will surely love them still.

Ahh, the 80's!
I really miss this kind of programming. There's a story, a lesson, love and humor. I feel like the Keatons are old friends.

Great 80's Family Show
It is a great starter to one of the most popular show in the 80's on NBC with the Keaton's.

Fiesta Bowl Game [HD]

Great Game except Oregon wasn't in it
Oregon was in the Fiesta Bowl which was also a great game. You can go to YouTube and probably find a good copy of both games to watch.

I have plenty of bandwidth--no HD
Amazon doesn't have proper streaming capacity--and it almost seems content dependent. I almost never get this in "HD." Even though I have plenty of bandwidth--just tested it, over 30 down, 4 up.

Really irks me to pay for the HD version and never get it. Seems worse on the weekend. This is NOT an issue with my connection--note the speedtest from above.

Perfect
Found this while I was looking for a dvd of 2013 BCS Championship game. Can't wait till they get this years games out. Well worth the money.

Diana: A Life Through A Lens

Jane Fincher - Nothing But Professional
As the only woman in the official Royal Press Pack, Jane had to work twice as hard to get “The shot” through her camera lens. She is not paparazzi; that I cannot stress enough, in fact she established a close working rapport w/ both The Prince and Princess of Wales.

There are pictures not seen for years; and some never before published. This is an honest, dignified retrospective of probably the most famous woman in the world, no snaps taken from behind the bushes.

I highly recommend this to anyone who would like a fresh prospective on the life of The Princess of Wales; you will not be disappointed.

Diana
Very interesting. It was worth the money and the time I spent watching it. I would recommend it to any "angelo-fan".

A Different Perspective
I love anything "Diana" and this was a nice perspective from a photographer's point of view. I really enjoyed it and loved seeing her again.

Charmed Noir

Is Season 7 Heaven for Charmed Fans?
Season 7 is a very interesting year for the world of Charmed. When it is bad, it is REALLY bad but when it is good, it is REALLY good. It really is a hit or miss situation.

The best episodes would have to be the ones near the end of the season but there are also some spread out through the season. Some of the best: Something Wicca This Way Goes, Witchness Protection, Charmed Noir, The Seven Year Witch, Srcy Hard and Death Becomes Them.

The worst episodes: A Call To Arms, The Bare Witch Project, and Once In A Blue Moon.

The Complete Rundown:

1. A Call To Arms - When Piper and Leo attend a Hindu wedding, they become possessed by Hindu gods. This episode is alright, but doesn't seem strong enough to be a season opener.

2. The Bare Witch Project - A student at magic school accidently conjures Lady Godiva, and the sisters must help return her to her time so she can finish her ride. Slightly better than the premiere but still doesn't...

An outstanding season!
I've read some negative reviews of Season 7, but I have to say it's one of my favorites. After a lot of lighter, more comedic episodes in seasons 5 and 6, Season 7 returned the series to the darker glory days of seasons 3 and 4. I loved the story arcs in the season, and the writing and direction were dead on.

Season 7 picks up where season 6 ended; adult Chris is dead and Leo can't stop grieving and move on. As his marriage to Piper continues to fall apart he is courted (in rather strange fashion) by Avatars (we saw them in Season 5 in the episode "Sam I Am," where Paige is reunited with her real father, Sam)to change the world and end the struggle between good and evil. Woven into this storyline are Paige's romance with the Avatar-obsessed Agent Brody (Kerr Smith) and Phoebe's romance with Les (Nick Lachey) and her sabbatical to find herself. The Avatar story only lasted half the season but segued nicely into the rise of Zankou. As Zankour terrorizes the sisters...

Season seven is back on track
The best thing about Charmed was that it was pure entertainment involving both drama and comedy, with the balance between the two depending on the theme of each individual episode. It wasn't supposed to show Wicca in a good light or a bad light or even a remotely correct light - it was just a clever metaphor for the relationship between the sisters, which was the real point of the series. It was supposed to be sappy and corny at times. It was supposed to be like a soap opera. I never loved Rose McGowan as Paige, but, to be truthful, I never liked Shannon Dougherty as Prue that much either. I always enjoyed watching until Billie joined in the last season. How could it be that a witch, not related to the Charmed Ones, is more powerful than they? If so, why were they even called the Charmed Ones in the first place? That is why this seventh season should have been the final one. I thought that the plots in season eight were at times more powerful and clever than season seven, but Billie's...

Alex Doesn't Live Here Anymore (2)

Great Send-off for a Classic
I was so glad when Paramount/CBS decided to finally put out the rest of this series. This was my favorite show during the 1980's. As a teen I had a crush on Mallory/Justine Bateman. I even got to go to a taping while serving in the Army in California. In fact I still have the autographed T-shirt (signed by everybody) that I won for singing the theme song at the taping. I jumped right to the last episode when my DVD set came in the mail and let me tell you that you will not be disappointed. From what I can tell this is the original episode and not a cut down version. Paramount/CBS did the fans right on this one. The final curtain call is included at the end of the episode. I don't think it was included in the re-runs nor is it in the netflix streaming version of the episode. I emailed CBS years ago when they first started releasing the show on DVD and ask that they include the curtain call on the DVD if they ever put out the final season and it looks like someone actually paid...

Saying good-bye to the Keaton family!
Finally, I own all seven seasons!
Having waited and waited to buy the sixth and seventh seasons of Family Ties, I was finally able to get Season 6 in April and Season 7 in August. Of course, I watched all the episodes of Season 7 in rapid succession, and I enjoyed most of them very much. I think that Gary Goldberg realized in Season 7 what he didn't quite get in Season 6...that the members of this family are all older now and that their concerns can't be the same as they were when the show started years before. Of course, the humor and the irrepressible Alex P. Keaton are essential, but the shows deal with serious themes as well. Steven's heart attack is a three-episode event that doesn't leave much room for humor, and the theme of racism is tackled when Steven's black co-worker and his family move into the Keatons' neighborhood. In the final episodes, Alex is off to his dream job in NYC, and the other Keaton children aren't far behind in leaving the nest (with the...

At last
It was great to finally see the last season released on DVD after a long wait. Overall I liked the DVD set in that the picture and audio quality for all of the episodes were very good. I believe this last season was recorded in stereo (new to TV broadcasts in 1988-89), and it appears they preserved the audio track. It was also great seeing the final episode uncut instead of divided into two parts like it was for syndication, and I especially liked seeing the cast come out and take their final bows as I saw back in May 1989 when it first aired.

The only disappointments I have with this last season is that there weren't any extras included. It would've been nice to hear some thoughts from the cast & crew about that final season and how they came to the decision to end the show at that point. Particularly since creator Gary David Goldberg has passed away and sadly will no longer be able to share any more stories about this show.

Still, though, it's nice to have the...

It is a well-documented addendum to Anne-Marie O'Connor's 2012 book LADY IN GOLD; however, it is worth viewing even if you haven't read the book. I have seen better
The video Air Disasters is not bad for the price, however the more serious Aviation Enthusiast will catch the subtle factual errors through out video. There is good footage though, some I have not seen before. If I may reccomend the Survival in the Skies video box set also offered here at Amazon.com as an addition or alternative choice. This video series produced by TLC is rather accurate and very imformative!!

I really like air disasters videos, its very educational, and weirdly gives you re-assuring mentality when flying.. Each disaster incident triggers a insanely detailed investigation that puts together all the missing pieces that contributed to loss of life. These are hard lessons, but all those poor souls that died is such horrific circumstances did not die in vain! Most high profile crashes that happened in the past do not happen again, so these videos will give you some assurance that air travel still is the safest means of travel! For the most part all crashes happen because of mechanical failures, lesser numbers for pilot errors, or combination of both! Currently there are more automation lessening pilot errors, and planes that are built from new composites making equipment more durable and lighter. Here are the staggering facts; each and every day there are approximately 85,000 to 90,000 flights a day!!!! Worldwide, there are 1000...

Good series, hope they release the others on Amazon Instant Videos
The investigations into the disasters are well covered and like while it isn't quite as good as Air Crash Investigation or Seconds From Disaster, it is still a good series. The accident and the causes are well covered and lots of information about what happened and how they changed aviation we know today to be safer.

If you are worried about flying, don't watch these before a flight. If you are keen to know how aviation got to where it is today and enjoy flying then this is definitely worth a watch.

what else is there to say

Best new reality show on tv
Great show, genuine people with an excellent sense of humor, I love this show!! and what exactly is a Dr. Sandy? lol I love watching Joan dance, she makes me want to get up and shake it. This is my favorite new show on television, I never miss an episode. AMC has broken the mold with this reality show, Joan is ready to be a star, and I think the world is ready for her. Get ready to laugh out loud and make some new Ringold security acquaintances, this is the work environment I wish I was in, small town with a tight knit crew of joksters. And don't blink, you might miss Captain's latest hair color...

Side Effects

He's no ordinary kid - he's Ben 10
Healthily into its third season, it's only now that BEN 10's freshman year is finally coming out in dvd in all its thirteen episode glory. Debuting in December 27, 2005 on the Cartoon Network, BEN 10 was an immediate hit with the fans as the show, boasting a very cool concept, proved to be fun and eminently watchable. Plus, that theme song rocks.

The premise: Ordinary 10 year old Ben Tennyson comes upon a mysterious alien artifact (resembling a wristwatch) which grants him temporary access to the forms of ten alien species, each of whom is inherently imbued with its own superhuman ability. In the constant company of his wise and benign grandfather Max (who hints of an enigmatic past, proving that being a "plumber" is more exciting than one would think) and his clever, sassy cousin Gwen (who he initially dislikes), Ben, early on, learns his lessons as he heroically attempts to abide by the famous Spidey quote: "With great power comes great responsibility." But his attempts...

It's all the rage with 8-year old boys...
My son (who is almost 9) really loves this show. The animation and plot lines remind me (a little bit) of the Scooby-Do series that I watched as a kid. The twist here is that the hero in this series can transform himself into 10 different creatures with different types of powers. I think this is a pretty cool show, and I like the character of Ben.

This is the *bomb* for younger kids.
This show is the new "transformers", the new "Voltron" of our generation. My son loves it, and it's actuallly interesting enough for me to watch as well. Seeing how Ben deals with problems, and which person he's going to use to solve them is really cool. It's a good show, and I recommend it for your younger kids. Some mild violence, but other than that, it's a HIT!

How did I not know about this stuff?
Some of things the CIA did were pretty creepy. This was a neat yet disturbing look into the secrets that part of the government kept hidden for so long. Totally worth the $2(?) per episode I paid.

Half of Season 4 Deceptive Salesmanship Again
Here we go again , another deceptive sale of a series. This is not what the title says it is . this is not season 4 BUT Half of season 4 . It' is my fault for falling into the salesmans TRAP , and read every last detail and do more research before a purchase !

A Skeptical Believer
I've been a fan of paranormal investigative shows for a while and remember when these guys first started appearing on TV. They have come a long way. Cheers to Zak, Nick, and Aaron!

Alright, I'm a skeptical believer of ghosts, but these guys can capture some evidence that just seems a bit too far stretched to merely be coincidental. I realize that practically anything caught could be fixed and rigged and all staged. However, I do believe these guys aren't into this field of investigation for the fame. Like other crews out there doing the same things, this is an interest of theirs that they've been doing a while before being on TV and if their shows are canceled they will still be doing the same thing - seeking irrefutable evidence of the paranormal.

It's a fact that we humans do NOT know everything about this world, about where we came from, nor about what happens after we are gone. One thing it all has in common is energy source. We came from energy. We...

Every New Yorker should watch this!
This is a great documentary on a side of New York City most people know nothing about. It is fascinating to find out that a good portion of Manhattan is actually built on garbage and it is frightening to think how much we still produce today. It goes through the history of this problem in NYC from its founding to the present and some of the solutions. This is definitely a must see.

the story of trash and society.
NO other tv series has ever really tackled the effect of trash on history. This one does that for sure! It also shows how the modern city takes care of the trash problem. The rome episode really gets into layers of history to show how they built the sewers and how they dealt with the trash of Rome. Each episode ,which was on the excellent smithsonian tv channel features a different city and it's a fascinating look into the history of a city and how trash impacted that cities planning and function!. It's in hd on amazon.com instant video too. Each episode is a different city. And I rented everyone of them. The cairo one was the most horrific one , with barbaric modern savages killing off pigs and whole sections of the city buried in trash. (the trash people live there). Still every city featured in this show had some really horrendous past experiences with trash and disease. and rotting corpses in the streets. This show , made me appreciate todays methods of waste disposal even more...

Famous Donors [HD]

Slice of history
I have to say, this dvd is a really good way of understanding our history. Go beyond the artifacts and it takes you through doors and windows with a slight sense of humor. Should appeal to all age groups!

The vaults of the Smithsonian? How could it NOT be good?
The subject matter is fascinating and never gets old. I could watch ten more seasons. As for Tom Cavanagh, I can't help but like the guy. He brought levity without disrespect, and a fun, spontaneous humor. I especially enjoyed seeing him interact with the occasionally awkward and serious-to-a-fault curators (all of whom I deeply respect, I might add). More than once his jokes fall on deaf ears and he gets blank looks instead of laughs, which makes them even funnier. Some of the curators are surprisingly lively. He talks fast, but I appreciate that because he's getting as much information in as possible in a short time. You'll love him or hate him.

could have been so much better...
I usually don't review what I consider one- & two-star items; this DVD is an exception. For some it may be worth more stars. It is at least four-star in quality and content. But Vaults is presented with a continuous flow of sophomoric attempts at humor. The host, Tom Cavanagh, does a lot of things right. He is appropriately hands-on and asks relevant questions. The Smithsonian staff are great. If the intended audience is pre-10-year-olds, raise the number of stars to three.

Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation, Vol.1

The LIVE Small-Screen Adventures of FIVE All-Green Avengers
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are like the 'Star Trek' of Generation Y: derided by critics, and yet beloved by fans; written off by entertainment executives, and yet repeatedly resurrected in multiple media; initially assessed as a fad, and yet still making waves 30 years later.

Since their first appearance in a May 1984 one-off comic book funded by monies from a tax return, the anthropomorphic bale* has appeared in three animated series, four feature films, an anime, numerous RPGs and video games, a live concert tour, and of course too many subsequent comic books to count! (Not to mention a rumored fifth film in 2014.)

Of all these incarnations, the most different (and, arguably, the least beloved) would be 'Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation,' a T.V. series that aired for only one season on Fox Kids in the late '90s. The first proper release of this series on home video in North America (in two volumes: the first releasing in September, the second to follow in...

Going, Going, Gone [HD]

Highly recommended especially for public library collections
Stories from the Vaults: Season Two is an eclectic, family-friendly collection of episodes that take viewers into the historical mysteries investigated by the Smithsonian Museum and its affiliates. From the wonders of the rainforest, to the quandary of trying to preserve sculptures made of chocolate and soap (and guess which inherently unstable substance is harder to preserve - no, it's not the one that guests try to eat!), to surprising true tales of some of America's most notorious criminals, Stories from the Vaults both entertains and edifies. Highly recommended especially for public library collections. The episodes are "Let's Eat!", "Nature's Vault", "Crystal Ball", "going, Going, Gone", "Sex 101" and "Villains and Rogues" plus bonus mini-featurettes. Approximately 200 minutes, available on DVD and Blu-ray.

The Good Wife: The Third Season

Smart And Surprisingly Funny: Network TV's Best Cast Has A Stellar, Game-Changing Year
There seems to be a tendency to think that ANY TV show that we watch and like should automatically warrant a five star review rating. I have never felt that to be so and would accordingly rank the various shows I watch on a regular basis from 3-5 stars (most falling into the 4 star designation). I say this in preface to my comments about the third season of CBS's ratings challenged but critically acclaimed drama "The Good Wife" because it is a show that has improved substantially since its debut. Almost instantly, critics lauded the Julianna Margulies vehicle for its timely presentation of a political wife scorned. As Margulies set about restructuring her world, the first season was a mix of politics, family, workplace, and courtroom drama. Margulies masterfully juggled the intracacies of the varying plot threads, but not all things were created equal. In my opinion, the element that really made the show stand out was Margulies relationship with her husband, Chris Noth, and other...

Another great season--this show is consistently terrific!
I am delighted to report that Season 3 of my favorite network-TV drama is as consistently top notch across every episode as Season 1 and Season 2.

As Season 3 opens, Alicia Florrick (Julianna Margulies) has emerged with greatly increased confidence in herself, both as a woman and as an attorney at Lockhart/Gardner, after the intense personal and professional struggles she endured during Season 2. She has left her husband Peter Florrick (Chris Noth) after finding out he had a one-night stand years ago with Kalinda Sharma (Archie Panjaba), the firm's mysterious private investigator. In spite of the fact that Kalinda did not know Alicia then, this explosive revelation makes it impossible for Alicia to be anywhere near Kalinda without feeling an overwhelming urge to scream at her friend or burst into tears--which is a real problem since...

Still great after three seasons
This show never disappoints. Every episode is well written, engaging, humorous, interesting and very entertaining. Some TV series seem to fizzle out after the first season but not this one. It's still as great in the third season as it was in the beginning. I highly recommend it.

National Parks Exploration Series - The Complete Collection [Blu-ray]

New view of these famous parks
You may have seen these National Parks before, but this version is different and not rerun of other recordings.
I think the Great Smoky Mountain dvd was the weakest one. The others, are like being there. If your television is
high definition and you have a blu ray player that can reproduce what these dvd offer, you may feel like dodging
the water at the water falls. The video quality is unbelievable. Jaw dropping. Great arm chair entertainment.
These park video are great the second time around. Not saying the picture quality of The Great Smoky Mountains was
poor, but the content was not as good. Until seeing this version of the Grand Canyon, I did not realize just how
Grand. The ancient cave art, was presented the best I had seen. Beating National Geographic and History channel
presentations.

Jane's Getting Married [HD]

What a refreshing change of pace!!!!
There are so many series on television with similar themes, but Drop Dead Diva is the bomb!!!! Characters are incredible and familiar to those we know in our own lives. The writers of this series are beyond brilliant! The sub-stories are on key and sure to attract a substantial following. The guest stars fit right in and the cast was very well cast. Will continue to watch this series for as long as they have it on!!! Join me! You won't be disappointed.

Creative, New, Fun and Addictive!
I came upon this show by accident, as it somehow showed up in my Netflix queue! At first, I thought it was a movie, but was happily surprised to find out it was a television show. After reading about the plot, I was intrigued. At 37, I admit, I love all the weirdo vampire, supernatural shows that seem to be taking over network television right now. And as much as I love them, they do give me nightmares!

This theme is original and presents many real life situations that women in Jane's situation do face in real life! Stacy, her BFF, is great! I just love her in this role. You may remember her as Meg from "How I Met Your Mother." I won't get into the storyline, as I don't usually care to read that in other reviews. But, as a viewer and a fan, two things I have to say. Number 1: Bring FRED BACK! Luke is boring! Number 2: Jane/Deb and Grayson need to get together. I hate how these shows drag out the "meant to be" love affair forever, just dangling it in our faces. I think it...

Drop Dead Dive is Addicting!
This series really gets me through my boring day at work! Too bad I miss the shows at home but I can buy them online, so that works out great! Great series.

Adventures of Tom Sawyer

Tom Sawyer DVD book
I was disappointed with what i ordered. I thought I was ordering the Tom Sawyer movie instead of the words from the book spoken. I also ordered Huckleberry Finn and that was a movie and i really enjoyed it.

Thanks for your time.

Tom Sawyer
Well, my 13 yr. old was reading this in school as an extra reading project so it was nice to have a film to accompany the reading material and made it that much more enjoyable.

Doesn't follow book closely
Didnt follow as closely with book as I would have liked. Students actually enjoyed watching it and it was pretty funny in parts.

The Roosevelt

My favorite new Ramsay
Hotel Hell has become my new favorite show, and it is my favorite Ramsay show. I have watched all of his shows, and love them all. Great Show.

Watched the first part on TV . . .WOW had to see the 2nd part
My husband and I watched the first part of this on TV but something came up and we missed the 2nd part. Rarely do we care enough about TV to chase down an episode but we had to see the ending. We love Gordon. He really, really put these snotty owners in their place! What makes people think they can run a business they know nothing about?

As rough as Gordon was on these guys by the end he had really gotten through to them and had them straightened out. If you like watching Gordon in action don't miss the 1st and 2nd part of this show.

Gordon Ramsay helps hotels?
One thing I like about Gordon Ramsay is his expertise in food, strong opinions on how a restaurant should be run, and directness. However, taking the Kitchen Nightmares format into the hotel environment doesn't really seem to work. While it is a good concept, the series sort of fizzles out in the middle of each episode. It leaves you wondering how much Gordon really manages to help.

Gliding Over All [HD]

Mike Ehrmentraut OWNS YOU.
There's not much you can say about a show that you haven't seen the entire season of yet, but what I can say is that BREAKING BAD, under the very watchful eye of Vince Gilligan, has become such an incredibly superior hour of television that it's become the best straight-up crime drama alongside FX's current winner JUSTIFIED, and what has been elevating it beyond belief in its fifth season is not the star of the show Bryan Cranston, who is still brilliant in his portrayal of Walter White, and really knows how to play his cunning and his desperation. It's also not in Aaron Paul, who's been phenomenal since the first minutes of his performance as Jesse Pinkman, the moral compass of the show (basically, if Pinkman thinks you've gone too far, you REALLY have) and its resident guide through the world we've found ourselves navigating through. It's also not through Anna Gunn as the increasingly put-upon and disassociative Skyler White, whose own personal journey over this season has caused...

Revenge of the Emasculated Man
Viewers describe Breaking Bad as Mr. Chips to Scarface. As clever as that is, I see something different. I see it as a revenge tragedy for a man who feels that he has been emasculated by circumstances and the world and his cancer diagnosis gave him the opportunity to take his revenge. Walt was a genius who due to his teaching job was so broke that $15 worth of printer paper was a purchase that broke the bank. He was the constant butt of his brother-in-law Hank's derision and teasing. Hank after all was a "real man" a DEA agent. Now Walt is the drug dealer and criminal mastermind that Hank is unknowingly pursuing and Walt loves every minute of it....as long as everyone in his life is paying tribute to his genius and his manhood to whatever extent that they know the truth.

What happens to the family of this man when they discover that the husband and father they knew is in fact an entirely different person and not because he used his chemistry skills to cook methamphetimine...

What a way to start the work week...
So, I got rid of cable TV, subscribed to Netflix, got a broadcast TV antenna, saved tons of money and now watch only what I want. This is the first TV show I feel compelled to buy on streaming video. Amazon charged my credit card $2.84 for HD Season 5 Episode 1 this Monday morning and I already watched it twice just hours after its premier. No spoilers here, don't want to kill the thrill for anyone. This is the most exhilarating TV ride I've been on. The good thing about buying episodes on Amazon is that there are no commercials and you can pay to see current shows the day after release. Wish they would play on my phone like Netflix. Amazon HD has better resolution than Netlix on my Roku box.

Criminal Minds: Seasons 1-7

Complete DVD Seasons 1-7 of Criminal Minds
I just recently started watching Criminal Minds on TV, catching different shows here and there when I could when flipping through channels. I really love the show and decided to purchase all the seasons so I could start from the beginning and watch them on my own time. Great addition to all my complete seasons of different shows and also to my movie collections.

A show one must watch
Not many shows can keep the viewer coming back for more after so many episodes, this is one does. The personalities and story lines continue to be interesting.

Good show.
I missed so many episodes of criminal minds working all time I was very glad to see the seasons on dvd.

Fork It Over

The Volume Debate Continues: 16 More Episodes, Half A Season And Half The Price
Quick Take: Essentially, this is half a season for half the price. A non-sale, non-discounted price of 19.95 fits in line with almost six hours worth of DVD content. A full season, had it been released that way, would simply have doubled the asking price.

Last year, History and A&E Television made the dubious decision to start releasing Volumes of their most popular shows as opposed to Seasons. I was one of the most vocal opponents of this move and some of my scathing tirades can be found on those initial releases. In truth, though, I have nothing against the idea of volume releases (especially for shows that aren't held together by continuing plot threads) as long as three things are clear:

1) They need to be priced according to content and no more expensive individually than a season set would be.
2) Don't start releasing Full Seasons and then switch tactics mid-stream to confuse unsuspecting buyers.
3) If it isn't a season, all content needs to be...

great content
I rated content 5 stars - however be careful , Volume 5 - ( IS NOT SEASON 5 ) it contains 16 episodes of season 2 which comes to 63 cents per episode being a good bargain.

Why are morbidly obese tattooed motorheads / gun freaks who trade verbal abuse and haggle with customers so FASCINATING?!
This is perhaps the most popular show on cable. I dunno, maybe it's because this crew reminds people of family businesses they know, just as it takes me back to 50-some years ago, working with my brothers in our curmudgeonly uncle's store. For whatever reason, the Pawn Stars are much more appealing than I would have imagined if someone had just described the people and goings-on in this large 24/7 Las Vegas Harrison-family-run pawnshop to me. The grumpy "Old Man," who shares my 1941 vintage, joins his engagingly merry wisecracking smartassed but equally knowledgeable son Rick and somewhat more serious but financially more venturesome grandson Corey in (when the Old Man isn't dozing in his chair) trading barbs, jibes and cheap shots (with about 25 bleeps per show), along with ganging up on the mascot Chumlee, a longtime friend of Corey's with a great fondness for chicken wings and items he deems "AWESOME." Chumlee finds reliable concealment for napping during working hours, will...

Dead Files

A different twist...
The Dead Files is a unique perspective in an exhausted genre. A former NYC detective goes in and does his investigative thing much like what would happen with a cold case.
The psychic medium, usually in the "dead" of night precedes him, with a cameraman who precedes her to make sure there is nothing in the building that would prejudice her initial reactions; what she's picking up, etc. She, Amy, goes through the building as she is impressed and picks up the energies. She empathically takes them on and very often gets a sketch artist to draw who or what she feels is the main culprit causing the disturbance.
At the end of the show she then joins her detective partner and they sit down with the owners to go over their findings in The Reveal.
I think it's very well done. They have gone to great lengths not to "cross contaminate" the evidence with the ethereal.
I do feel concern for Amy because when she takes on, literally, these entities, she does it empathically...

Dead Files
This dvd set does not include every episode of the first season, but it is still a great collection. I Love this show!

Great show
Awesome show. I watch it faithfully every Friday. A must buy series. Can't wait Til the next one comes out.

Musical Brain

A record producer become as behavioral therapist and tries his theories on Sting, Buble', Jean and Feist!
This 50-minute medical/musical documentary was made in 2009 for the National Geographic Channel and may have aired on some PBS stations as well. It revolves around the research of Dr. Daniel Levitin who was a record producer in the 1970s (he engineered albums by Steely Dan and Blue Oyster Cult, among either) and, in his 30s decided to go to medical school and became a cognitive therapist and behavioral researcher. He has his PhD.and he teaches at McGill University in Canada.

Levitin did a lot of research on how the brain reacts to music but want to test what the brain does when a musician is composing music as well. He needed a "guinea pig" and who did he find? Sting - the rock star and former lead of the band The Police. Sting agreed to be wired and tested while in an MRI unit.

The film includes lengthy interviews with Sting as well as Haitian musician Wyclef Jean, singer (Leslie) Feist and Canadian superstar Michael Buble'. You'll hear brief performances of...

Wicked Tuna: Season 1

Great series if you are into offshore fishing
Bluefin tuna is an amazing fish. I truly enjoyed watching the passion that these fishermen bring to their task. The personalities are interesting and diverse. You can also learn a few things/tips around fishing if you pay attention. I think they did a good job to fit the footage from a few days (or a week) of fishing into a single episode. The DVD also has a short documentary about the sustainability of the fishery. Although the documentary seems be much older than the actual episodes, it was a good reminder that we need to be responsible with the resource.

AWESOME!!
If you dont own this, you are missing out! must buy for son, husband, friend, fishermen, can watch over and over again.

Hung: The Complete Third Season

Great final season - real shame they cancelled it.
I thought Hung got off to a shaky start, but found its feet in the second season and really found its stride in this third season which turned out to be its final one. Great to have it on Blu-ray - I just wish I had a fourth season to look forward to.

Unconventional but Ultimately Quite Sweet and Humane
HUNG was fun and unconventional and willing to explore things human and common to us all through less savory channels! Once you got past the concept everyone seemingly wants to think as distasteful, it actually was a wonderfully moral and sweet show, and often outrageously funny. It will be missed.

Awsome
Each season improves. Love the actors and storylines. Hope it continues for a few more seasons. Will continue to purchase

KATHY SMITH TIMELESS COLLECTION: BODY BOOMERS Workout

Enjoyable effective workout video
This video contains three workouts, one a vigorous aerobic segment, one emphasizing balance and weight training, and a relaxing yoga cool down/tension release session. In between Kathy Smith talks about various issues impacting on post menopausal health. The aerobic and balance sessions are each about 20 minutes in length. The aerobic segment in particular really had me working hard and was an efficient workout when you don't have a lot of time but want to get the metabolism moving. Being 58 and someone who has always tried to maintain fitness, I find Kathy Smith's workouts to be both enjoyable and effective.

Best for Boomers
Challenging for this out of shape 59 yr old gal, but I can get thru it. Past experience with Kathy Smith is that she gets me in shape! I love how I feel when I'm done!

Nice variety of workouts
You get basically 3+ workouts. One is totally new and the other 2 are recycled from some of Kathy's other videos. The new one having to do with moving thru menopause is very good. I like the info about menopause the the explanations about why strength training, cardio workouts, and yoga are important. The workouts in this section are short and fun.

Roseanne: The Complete Fifth Season

FUNNY, REAL, ORIGINAL
One of my favorite seasons. The bike shop closes. Becky elopes with Mark. The Lunch Box opens. This had some really good episodes. From Jackies abusive boyfriend, to the death of Roseanne and Jackies father, to David moving in with the Conners. Definately a worthwhile purchase.

98.Terms of Estrangement (1)-- Dan and Roseanne have some adjustments to make, when the Bike shop and the Diner both go out of business, leaving Roseanne the sole wage earner. Becky takes the news hard, it means that Mark will have to leave town; so she elopes with him, and leaves with him.

99.Terms of Estrangement (2)-- Roseanne and Dan prepare to say goodbye to Becky, when her an Mark come back to gather some belongings, and head out to start their married life together.

100.The Dark Ages-- The power company cuts off the Conners' power. Dan and Roseanne must look at Darlene in a new light after David spends the night in her room.

101.Mommy Nearest-- Roseanne and...

A few changes over the years.
I agree with the earlier review about the abrupt changes over the years on the show. But they did mention Roseanne's fathers abuse in the fourth season episode "This Old House" Roseanne and Jackie went to the house they grew up in before it was torn down and were discussing the things that went on during childhood. Roseanne pointed to the wall and said to Jackie "Remember what was hanging there?" Referring to the belt they were hit with. Roseanne also referred to her dad as a lunatic in the Tornado episode from the 1st season when Jackie said he used to get them all in the car during a storm and chase it. They changed the character of Dan's mother also. I think in the second season Dan's mother comes to Thanksgiving with her boyfriend and seemed like a perfectly normal woman and in a later season she had mental problems and was put in a hospital. Then Debbie Reynolds played her as a psycho. David's name started as Kevin. They might have cleared that up in a later episode...

Another excellent season of Roseanne handles lots of changes
Season 5 of Roseanne starts out on a very morose note that corresponds to the deep recession the country was suffering at the time these shows were aired in 1992. Dan's motorcycle shop is failing and will have to be closed in order for him to salvage the mortgage on the Conner home. Rodbell's , the diner in the mall where Roseanne has worked for two years, is closing too, due to business in the mall being so bad. In order to make ends meet, the kids' college fund has been depleted so that Becky, while filling out college applications, throws a fit when she asks her parents about this fund and finds it no longer exists. Like any typical teenager, she is very upset when the harsh realities of life actually have an impact on her individual plans. Thus, she elopes with boyfriend Mark and moves to Minnesota, since with the closing of Dan's shop, Mark is unemployed too. Before she leaves though, she says some hurtful words to her father that basically blame all of the family's problems on...

Awesome Regular Show in History!

Really funny spoofs of stereotypical story lines and plots
I guess it's called "regular show" because no matter how silly and nonsensical the characters and episodes are, they're still always formulaic enough to be familiar and make sense anyway. It's clever and funny. The dialogue and character dynamics are hilarious and well-formed. And some of the people's faces and voices on here are just perfect.

Cloudstreet

Two Families, Twenty Years, One House: An Ambitious And Overstuffed Six-Part Australian Import
As I understand it, Tim Winton's "Cloudstreet" is virtually required reading in the Australian educational system. It is both studied and beloved as a contemporary masterpiece. When a TV miniseries adaptation was announced, it was met with enormous anticipation. Some claim that this is as solid an interpretation as you're likely to get considering the complexity of the source material. Others have claimed that the series misses the mark somewhat, once again citing that the book itself would be extremely difficult to bring to life. The narrative includes an immense cast, it is spread over several decades, and there is a metaphysical (even surreal or magical) element that oftentimes removes the tale from the land of the conventional. As this DVD release is geared toward the North American marketplace, it's fair to assume that many of those that discover it will not have had the benefit of reading the novel. I, myself, fall into that camp and am looking at "Cloudstreet" from the...

One Cloud Street calamity of couples and children
Odd families embark on life under one Perth roof. Strange situation, peculiar characters drive this series based on Australia's most popular novel. Dysfunctional with a capitol "D". Depiction of poor, low-class, depressed people not unlike though lives encountered in Oklahoma's "Grapes of Wrath" or Ireland's "Angela's Ashes." But this Cloudstreet lot of whackos can't seem to help themselves. The acting is good enough to repulse intellectual viewers. Not Pulitzer level.

Garfield Show: Holiday Collection

Garfield's Holiday Adventures!
I grew up watching Garfield & Friends and of course the CBS Garfield primetime specials. It took me awhile to get use to The Garfield Show, in which I am starting to like. The Holiday Extravaganza came out of nowhere. I never heard about the DVD being released until I came across it in the store. Since I am a die-hard Garfield fan, I eagerly bought it.

The episodes on this disc are:

The Haunted House - John is out of idea for a new comic book, so he spends the weekend at Mr. Barker's new mansion, which is haunted by a ghost cat!

Which Witch - The annoying twins Druscilla and Minerva are visiting John and Garfield plans on getting rid of them by sending them to a witch's house.

Turkey Trouble - Jon wins a turkey through a contest in which he plans on cooking it for Liz, but the turkey isn't frozen, it is alive.

Caroling Capers - Garfield goes around the neighbor singing Christmas Carols in exchange for food.

Not what I expected...
This is NOT the old Garfield holiday shows we all grew up with. These are remade and the characters even have different voices. Had I known that I wouldn't have purchased this item. There was lots of disappointment on Christmas Eve when the family sat down to enjoy the Christmas special.

Parks and Recreation: Season Four

One of the Best Comedies on Television
Who would have thought 3 years ago that Parks and Recreation would one day be better than The Office? To anyone who has seen Seasons 2 or 3 of Parks and Recreation, this shouldn't be a surprise; this show is one of the best comedies on air right now.

And Season 4 does not disappoint.

At the end of Season 3, Leslie Knope is asked to run for public office with city council elections on the horizon. The first episode of Season 4 picks this thread up directly: the crux of this season centers around Leslie running for office. Unlike previous seasons, this one has a very real and cogent through-line; every episode advances this storyline to some degree. While some of these episodes are serialized in nature, they also do stand alone as fantastic episodes of television. The writing on this show involves a great mixture of wit, awkwardness, absurdity, and sentiment. While many of us were worried that the budding romance between Leslie and Ben would be cheesy and...

BURT MACKLIN, FBI!
Parks and Rec is always hilarious, everyone knows that. Between the great Ron Swanson, Leslie, Andy, and every other character on the show, Parks is one of the finest comedies currently on television. Season four showed no drop in quality whatsoever. And on top of all of the brilliant comedy, it also had some very touching emotional moments that are hard to forget. I love this show!!

And how can I forget to mention Paul Rudd's fantastic performance as Bobby Newport Jr! The guy was hilarious and I predict a best guest actor in a comedy Emmy nod for him!

Always fun!
I'm hooked on this show. Always funny, clever and quick. I look forward to Season Five! 4 more words required.
